The Tyrrellspass Tidy Towns Association is proud to present …. Fr Ray Kelly, “the Best Singing priest in Ireland”, in concert at the Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar on Friday 29th. September 2017.
Fr. Ray was born in Tyrrellspass, Co. Westmeath in April 1953. In April 2014, Fr.Ray sung a personalised version of Leonard Cohen’s Song, Hallelujah, for Chris & Leah O’Kane on their Wedding day. The wedding was recorded on video and the song was put on YouTube where it has reached 58 million hits! He has performed globally to packed audiences. One of Fr. Ray’s ambitions is to have a series of concerts around Ireland and hopes to bring that to fruition over the next year or two.

The Summer Saturday Evening Festival is a whirlwind of excitement, colour and thrilling horse racing in a brilliant atmosphere. The Race Meeting attracts huge crowds from every corner of Ireland where people meet friends, mingle, and make new friends. Kilbeggan Races are hosting Ladies day this Friday, July 21st 2017!!
The most significant sponsorship development to date has been the Midlands National, in a few short years the race has established itself as one of the most exciting chases of the summer racing calendar. The Midlands National Race Day at Kilbeggan has now become the biggest summer race meeting outside of the Budweiser Irish Derby and the Galway Festival and has also established itself as the social event of the year in the midlands.
With Darren Kennedy and Alison Roe as judges for best dressed lady on the day and a chance to win fabulous prizes including a 2 night stay in the Wineport Lodge’s Champagne Suite with dinner one evening, Afternoon Tea one afternoon and some top to toe pampering too. The winner will also be presented with €1,000 spending money.

On Tuesday the 16th May 2017 11 learners from 5 Community Employment Schemes located across Westmeath successfully completed their final day of the QQI Level 3 Major Award in Horticulture. The programme was a joint venture by 5 Westmeath based Community Employment Schemes, the Department of Social Protection and the Longford Westmeath Education and Training Board.
The learners completed a number of horticultural projects in Co. Westmeath, planting flowerbeds in Ballymore, potting plants in Ballyhowen and planting a vegetable patch and designing and creating a landscaping feature in Dun na Si Heritage Centre, Moate.
Congratulations to Rosemount on their outstanding performance in the Pride of Place Awards 2016. On Saturday the 26th of November at a gala awards ceremony in Belfast, representatives of Rosemount were awarded Runners Up in 2016 IPB Pride of Place Awards.
On the 14th July 2016 the whole community turned out to meet the Pride of Place judges. The community in Rosemount demonstrated great community spirit and the judges got a chance to see first hand the product of all of their hard work. It is great to see all their hard work rewarded.

The event is open to all members of the public who are interested in learning more about Community Employment, our projects, our vacancies and our training opportunities, or anyone who want to come in for a cup of tea and a chat.
